It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Smalley on April 12, 2026, at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Donna was born on February 18, 1941, in Elkhorn, Manitoba and was the oldest of three children of James and Vera Murray. She attended elementary school in Elkhorn and moved to Brandon in 1951 at the age of ten. After completing grade 11, she studied business at the Angus Commercial College in Winnipeg. From 1959 to 1967 she worked as a teller at the Bank of Commerce and worked in accounting over the years.
Donna was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend to many - a real people person! She was a local and Western Division bowling champion in 1965, and loved to golf, travel, visit, and play cards. She served in her community with Meals on Wheels and the Lions Club.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son and stepdaughters, Kevin (Michelle), Sandra (Kim), Nancy (Stephen), Linda (Ray), Sharon (Mark); brother Jim (Marlene) and sister Bonnie (John); 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Richard Harris (1963-1979), and second husband, Alan Smalley (1988-2024).
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
